Mammals milling about in the late afternoon shade, once the heat has relented.
Mama doe with 2 babies. The one on the left is TINY.
Jack chilling 'neath the manzanita.
When it's crazy hot, I see almost no mammals.
But the birds, bees, bugs galore, they don't stop.
Turkeys parade past our home, flouting the 100-degree heat.
But the mammals?
We hide out until it calms down a bit.
And then re-emerge, moving gingerly. =)
