Having been fooled by decoys in the past, I can now spot them, at least usually, sometimes informed by the fact that there's only one (if a very flock-y species), and it's in a place handy for folks to see (to lure flocks so folks can see them, too). Not to mention very, very still. =)
This is a classic example. Note flock circling.
