How big is Half Dome? Well, can you see the people? =)

So, if you've never been to Yosemite, and wondered how big Half Dome was,
here's a hint.

Half Dome, photographed from Washburn Point

Same photo, cropped and enlarged to show the people at top

Same photo, cropped and enlarged again to show the people

Same photo, the for-sure people outlined
Tiny little bipeds: aren't they cute?

=)

Now go back to the top photo
and mentally picture the people (teeny, tiny specks) there.

So, there's your answer.

It's big.

  2. Hmmm, d'ya think that could be a First Grade outing or are they all 6'6" outdoorsy-type dudes? Just so's I know how big it actually is.

And is there, like, an elevator round the back?

    :o)

    1. Hee. Re: elevator, there are cables threaded through metal posts to help you up the last part (kinda curvy, as you might imagine). Does that count? (btw, nice, like, California accent...)

You GOT me re: how big those bipeds are. Could be a REALLY, really athletic group of 6-year-olds, but looking at the bipeds' proportions, I'd say they're actually adults. Height unknown, alas.
